The general theme of the meeting (which will be joint with the equivalent Political Commission of JEF) will be “Europe’s Global Challenges: the limits of the EU’s foreign policy, the possibilities in a federal Europe”. Panels and workshops will focus on Europe’s policy in Africa and Middle-East: addressing the migration crisis and beyond; Europe’s security challenges and the future of European defence; and Europe as a regional power in the system of global governance. An open public debate with Portuguese politicians will be part of the programme. The event is hosted and co-organised by our new section in Portugal.
